10pm – j.allen studio
Self Told Lies and the Cosmic Truth
“Self Told Lies” will be a performance piece lived out by four collective artists from the local super-groups Everyone Lives Everyone Wins and Ghost Affirmation. Created by the group for you, ‘Self Told Lies’ is an amalgamation of sensory over-load revealing the Universal True Self to the “self”… what we think we are.
This will be performed by utilizing the alchemy of sound and vision to create an atmosphere of terror, nothingness, and in the end overwhelming joy.
Please join us for an evening of healing vision via the performance of ‘Self Told Lies and The Cosmic Truth’ at j. Allen Studio, S. Upper St. Lexington, KY, below Bleed Blue Tattoo.
Make noise and physically manifest visions.
10pm JEMINA PEARL at Cosmic Charlie’s (formerly Lynagh’s Club, at the plaza on Woodland and Euclid). Opener TBA. $5, 21+
So it’s not an “official Boomslang event” but there’s a really cool Thursday night show in Lexington – check it out after you hit up the art show/literary event/j. allen show:
Formerly of Be Your Own Pet, the Nashville garage punker has made recordings with Iggy Pop and Thurston Moore. She played a bill earlier this summer that included Mission of Burma (playing a Friday night Boomslang show at Buster’s!), Fucked Up and Ponytail.
